Beginners Yoga

Building Strong Foundations for Your Yoga Journey

Beginners Yoga is a traditional floor-based class designed for people completely new to yoga.

Classes follow a Vinyasa style, meaning movements flow gently from one pose to the next rather than following a fixed routine.

You will gradually learn foundational yoga poses (asanas), simple breathing techniques (pranayama), and some of the principles behind yoga.

Over time these poses are built into short flowing sequences that work the whole body, helping you develop strength, mobility, and confidence.

This class is more dynamic than the other classes I offer and includes standing, seated, and floor-based poses.

No flexibility is required as everything can be adapted to suit each individual. The only requirement is that you are able to get up and down from the floor independently. If this is something that you struggle with please have a look at my Supported Flow classes.

What to Expect:

  • Gradual introduction to foundational yoga poses and movements

  • Flowing sequences that build strength and mobility throughout the body

  • Standing, seated, and floor-based poses

  • Simple breathing practices to support focus and relaxation

  • Clear guidance and time to ask questions

  • A welcoming environment where beginners can learn at their own pace

Who It’s For:

  • Complete beginners with little or no yoga experience

  • People wanting to learn yoga from the foundations up

  • Those looking to build strength, mobility, and confidence

  • Anyone curious about yoga but unsure where to start

  • People who want to feel comfortable joining other yoga classes in the future

  • People comfortable getting up and down from the floor independently

Why This Matters: Starting yoga in a beginners class gives you the time and space to understand the poses, movements, and breathing techniques properly. This helps you build confidence, reduce the risk of injury, and develop a practice that truly supports your body.

Benefits:

  • Build strength, stability, and flexibility across the whole body

  • Develop a strong foundation in yoga in a supportive environment

  • Develop confidence in movement and body awareness

  • Improve balance, posture, and mobility

  • Reduce stress and support mental wellbeing

  • Gain the confidence to explore other yoga styles and classes

Your First Class

If you are new to yoga, starting can feel intimidating. This class is designed so you can learn at your own pace in a friendly, welcoming environment.

You do not need to be flexible, strong, or experience, most people arrive feeling unsure and leave feeling stronger, calmer, and more confident in their bodies.
